This project uses images from Google Streetview and turns them into postcards. The people in them have had their personal space recorded and published online and they have no choice in the matter. Their faces have been blurred, but their identity is still visible by location. Their privacy has been taken. On request, a user can have their house blurred and can also flag up inappropriate or sensitive imagery for review by Google but its removal is not guaranteed despite legal action resulting in Streetviews activities having been suspended in some countries. Do the practical advantages of this technology outweigh the ethical questions that arise from this potential disruption of lives?
