'I wanted to express the way we present ‘perfect’ versions of ourselves online, particularly focusing on Instagram. I used #Instagramvsreality as inspiration, using this hashtag people post side by side comparisons of how they appear on social media verses how they actually look in real life. However, I noticed that even in the ‘reality’ image people were still attempting to present themselves as care free and in a flattering way. I addressed this topic by layering two images, In one the model is posing how they may present them self on social media. In the realistic image they are sitting and eating because this is part of life that people don’t show online. I filtered the images so one is visible by looking through a red lenses and the other through a blue. Filtering these images conveys how we alter our online persona so the reality isn’t always visible.'
